Introducing ProbeIQ: continuous attack-surface monitoring without the enterprise tax

If you run security for a mid-sized company or an agency that watches other people’s perimeters, you’ve probably lived one of these three lives:

  1. The annual pentest. A thorough report, a flurry of fixes — and then eleven months of your attack surface drifting while nobody’s looking.
  2. The DIY stack. subfinder, naabu, httpx and nuclei on a cron, four piles of output that don’t talk to each other, and a Tuesday-morning ritual of re-reading the same findings you triaged last week.
  3. The enterprise ASM platform. Powerful, continuous — and quoted at a number that assumes you have a procurement department and a six-figure security budget.

There’s a gap in the middle, and ProbeIQ is built to fill it: continuous external attack-surface monitoring that a competent generalist can run, that produces findings you can actually act on, and that doesn’t cost like an enterprise contract.

Not another scanner

Let’s be clear about what ProbeIQ is not. It is not a new scanning engine. Nobody needs Nmap rewritten, and the ProjectDiscovery suite is excellent at what it does. The value was never in the scan — it’s in everything around the scan.

ProbeIQ is the connective tissue over best-in-class open-source engines (subfinder, dnsx, naabu, httpx, tlsx, nuclei and more). It orchestrates them in the right order, then does the hard, unglamorous work that turns raw output into something useful:

  • Correlation and de-duplication. The same weak TLS config reported by three tools becomes one finding with its full history — not three rows you triage three times.
  • Continuous monitoring with real diffs. Every run tells you what’s new, what regressed, what got remediated, and which assets appeared that nobody told you about.
  • Reports a non-technical stakeholder can read. A one-page executive summary that states your posture and trend, with the technical detail a click behind it when you need to go deep.

Priced to be used, not endured

We did the homework on what the incumbents charge. The realistic entry band for continuous ASM clusters around $120–150/month (Intruder’s Essential tier) and climbs past $300/month at the mid tier (Intruder Cloud, Detectify Surface Monitoring). Those are fine products — they’re just priced for a buyer who isn’t you.

ProbeIQ starts at $49/month, with a Pro tier at $149/month that sits comfortably below the incumbents’ mid tiers, and a 14-day free trial on every paid plan. If you join during early access, you lock that price for the life of your subscription. Full pricing is on the pricing page — no “contact sales” wall to find out whether you can afford it.

Who it’s for

ProbeIQ is aimed at mid-market firms and agencies who want continuous external coverage, readable reports, and a defensible record of exactly what was scanned and why — without an enterprise price tag or an enterprise learning curve. Most tools in this space are powerful and hostile to use. The opening we saw was a tool a security-conscious generalist can run confidently on day one.

Safe by design

One more thing, because it matters in this category: ProbeIQ only ever touches assets you’ve proven you own and signed off to test. Ownership verification, signed rules of engagement, defense-in-depth enforcement, and an append-only audit trail aren’t bolt-ons — they’re the spine of the product. It identifies exposure in standard scans. Optional, bounded validation requires separate signed authorization and enablement. We wrote about the safeguards in The defensible scan.

If your perimeter changes faster than your pentest cadence — and it does — request early access or book a demo. We’ll get you watching your first scope in minutes.
